an entirely new application for shibori dying techniques that sidesteps the dying process altogether. the fabric is twisted and tied as one would in preparation for coloring...
next, however, the sculptural result of twisting and tying is then used to craft three-dimensional shapes, instead of merely serving a temporary utilitarian purpose. i love the beautiful, sea creature-like objects that result:
